Title: COOK

Reports to: Deli Manager

Summary of Position: Accurately and efficiently cuts and cook vegetables, salads,

soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion products prior to cooking.

Assist in cleaning work areas, equipment and kitchen; and receiving and storing supplies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepares a variety of recipes and other food items.

Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.

Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking

methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.

Follow recipes meticulously, including measuring, weighing, and mixing

ingredients to create high-quality meals that align with company standards.

Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, stove

burners, ovens, and refrigeration equipment.

Prepares item for grilling, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning,

seasoning and/or marinating.

Follows proper food presentation and set up for all dishes.

Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.

Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.

Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations.

Ability to work under pressure with great time management skills

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Deli Manager or manager-on-duty.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.

Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and store personnel.

Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40+ pounds.

Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.

Must be able to follow printed recipes and specifications or any changes as requested by Manager.

Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance to New Jersey Health Department standards for Food Service Employees.

Must pass a food handlers license test or earn ServSafe certification to ensure compliance with health regulations.
